“Authenticity is, at its heart, the idea that we should make the way we behave on the outside match what we feel on the inside. It’s the art of really being yourself – not the idea of what you think somebody else’s idea of yourself should be.” ~ Kiera-Louise Harrison
In a world that seems so fixated on people becoming something that they are not, to tap into your authenticity can seem something of a foreign concept.
Right from the day we are born, the world floods us with messages about who we should be in order to survive and thrive. Generations are growing up influenced by heavily distorted bodies, perfectly photoshopped images and life through unrecognisable filters.
The media colours our lives with expectations, telling us who to be, what to want and even how to express ourselves. With this being said, most people are failing to see that by buying into these illusions, by living up to societal standards and being someone you are not, subconsciously you are telling yourself that who you are is not okay.
Hiding or suppressing who you are can end up leaving you feeling lonely, disconnected or even utterly worthless, and what’s more, when these feelings are being stirred up under the hood, it can feel like you’re fighting a losing battle when it comes to truly finding love and acceptance.
So, what exactly is Authenticity?
Authenticity is, at its heart, the idea that we should make the way we behave on the outside match what we feel on the inside. It’s the art of really being yourself – not the idea of what you think somebody else’s idea of yourself should be…
That’s a big one right!
But the thing is, there is only One right way to be – and that is who we truly are.
Our soul wants us to be in our own unapologetic, radiant flow.
How to Tap Into Your Authenticity
Not copying what someone else is doing or feeling like we have to live up to a societal standard that drains our energy.
On the human plane, we are supposed to be fully expressed.
We all have our own unique gifts and talents that are meant to be shared with the world.
And when we aren’t being true to who we are, we hold back, we stay small, and instead of sharing them, we end up keeping our gifts hidden which is actually one of the most selfish things we can ever do!
Because not only are you depriving yourself of feeling in alignment with your own truth, of your authenticity, (which Is by the way, part of your reason for being here), but you actually deprive the entire world of your magic.
This not only diminishes you and others, but you miss out on the joy of sharing, the uplifting feeling of making a difference, and the self-improvement that naturally comes from practicing what you do best.
You see it doesn’t matter how you bring your gifts to light; it just matters that you do.
Share Your True Authenticity
“Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It’s about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.” ~ Brene Brown
Sharing who you are enriches everyone.
There isn’t a person on the planet that doesn’t have something that they can enrich the lives of others with. Whether it’s your smile, sense of humor, your creativity or entrepreneurial skills, the things you offer can enhance the world.
Who we all are is the fabric of life.
Walking someone else’s path will never be the long term solution to our own magic and power. The universe will always push us to be original.
So trust that who you truly are and the way you dream of doing it IS THE WAY you’re meant to do it. There is no right or wrong. We can make it look however we like as long as it adds value to the world in a way that we are uniquely qualified to.
You don’t need to have a master plan to master your life.
Just focus on being the best version of you that you can be and on showing up in a way that would make you proud of yourself and that brings you joy.
In fact, the way that feels most fun and easy to you, is actually the road you’re designed to take – that’s why the universe made it feel that way.
So you can Trust your secret wishes, they are the sign posts you should be following, for reasons you can’t yet see. It was you guiding you all along.
