Finding More Ways to Relieve Stress

It is very detrimental to you. It is said that having stress is normal nowadays. According to research, 35-55% of people face stress in their daily life.

Most of the people blame social media for this. But social media is not the only reason for stress. Surely it is one of them. In the end, it depends upon you that how you use something.

8 Practical Ways to Relieve Stress and Be at Peace Again

I am here to give you some tips that really work for stress relief. Tried and tested by me. I use to get a lot of stress from my work but after deep research, I was able to manage a load of stress in my life. You can also try to implement these habits in your life. But if you have a very high-stress level then you should go and see a psychiatrist.

Here are 8 practical ways to relieve stress and live a happier, more peaceful life:

1. Deep Breathing.

This is the technique that I use whenever I got tense or stress. Due to work or some pressure, it is usually to be tenser. So I use to do “deep breathing”. It helps to relax your body. Have you ever noticed how you breathe when you are relaxed or when you wake up in the morning?

Your breathing automatically starts going deeper when you are relaxed. This is my opinion that when you do deep breathing, you are taking the positive energy of nature into your body and when you exhale you throw the negative energy out from your body.

When you start doing deep breathing your body sends a message to your brain to calm down. You can do this daily in your life. Morning time is the best time to do deep breathing.

2. Workout.

By doing exercise your brain releases some chemicals that help to relieve stress. There is a tremendous amount of benefits of doing exercise, like:

  • Exercise helps to get a good sleep.
  • Exercise helps to lose fat.
  • It helps to make your body relax.
  • It also helps to build muscle.
  • It helps to boost your self-esteem.
  • It helps to regulate the blood flow in your body.
  • It helps to keep your cardiovascular system healthy.
  • It helps to improve your metabolism.
  • It helps to remove toxic products out from your body.

Start doing exercise from today. Here I am not talking about Gym workout only. But other exercises also like Running, Jogging, Yoga and even Zumba.

3. Meditate.

Ask some tips for stress relief from a random person, undoubtedly I can say that he or she will mention meditation. Because meditation is a great practice. You can do it in your home also. Meditation is originated from India and then it spread throughout the world.

There is a big list of the benefits of meditation. If I start explaining one by one then this post will never end.

It is a well-known fact that meditation helps to relieve stress. But it is only one of the benefits of meditation. Did you know that meditation helps to relieve the “age-related memory loss” process?

If you want to practice meditation then, first of all, you have to know it well. You can do it in the presence of a teacher. Or if you want to do it yourself then you can read some books that explain meditation.

Meditative practices like yoga also ease tension and stress, which brings on migraine episodes. Meditation, especially when combined with drug treatment, can also help you get better quality sleep, decreasing the frequency and intensity of headaches, or even migraines.

A migraine is a chronic condition that can be treated and the primary treatment of migraines involves the use of pain-relieving or prophylactic medications to decrease or prevent symptoms. Over-the-counter drugs for migraine treatment include Aleve, Advil, and Tylenol. Several prescription medications are also used to treat migraines, including Sumatriptan, Atenolol, Amitriptyline, Topiramax, and steroids.

It is vital to avoid overusing these medicine in migraine treatment as they can cause rebound headaches. Patients should seek professional advice on how best to use medications for migraine treatment.

4. Always Rest.

It is important to push your body in order to grow. But your body and your mind need rest too. Continuous working increases stress in the body. And rest can cure it well.

In this era, people are working day in and day out. But they are forgetting something behind and that is their health. A night of good sleep can recharge your brain to function properly. So make sure that you are getting a good 7-8 hours of sleep every day.

Also take care of your health, because if you are not healthy. Then what is the purpose of working hard every day? Remember that “your health is the real wealth“.

5. Disconnect Yourself From Social Media

Social media alone is not the cause of stress. But surely it is one of them. Do you know that the average person spends at least 7 hours a day on his/her phone?

Social media cause stress because when people see pictures of rich people who aren’t even rich in real, they also want to be like them.

And then they try to achieve that. In the end, they just end up buying their course/E-book, etc. Social media also make people judgmental. But it is totally upon you if you want to see girls. Then it will show you that but if you want motivation, it will also give you that.

If you are one of the people who got stress because of social media then my advice is that you should take a break from it. Give yourself a glimpse of real life. Go for a vacation, do meditation and exercise, etc. It will help you a lot.

6. Express Your Gratitude.

This is a well-known fact that life is short. A year goes away in a pinch. If we really want to reduce the amount of stress we have, we all should be grateful in life. Being grateful is one of the best habits you can adopt.

According to research, people who are grateful in their life have less amount of cortisol (stress hormone) in their bodies. They have a great concentration power and they can work more efficiently than a normal person.

7. Practice Time Management.

Sometimes we take “time for granted” and by doing this we are actually welcoming more stress. I did the same mistake in my life. But when I got that how much important time is, I started maintaining it. Do you know that you can increase your concentration power, reduce the amount of stress with the help of time management?

Start dividing your day into small pieces. And put your work, entertainment, etc in that specific piece according to your comfort. You can also read some books on it which I do to know about time management. One of my favorite books is ““Eat that frog” by “Brian Tracy”.

In the book, Brian explains that we often do procrastination in our work. Because in our mind we don’t want to do that work because of boredom. For this, he suggests that you should always do the harder work first in the morning. Because our concentration power is high in the morning, we can easily able to do that.

8. Spend Time in Nature.

Do you know that only the sounds of nature can calm down your mind, lower the blood pressure and can relieve stress in your body? So why not take the help of nature.

Start practicing meditation in nature. Walk barefoot on grass, do gardening. If you show your love for nature, it will surely love you back. By doing meditation in nature you can bring more positivity, calm and gratitude.

If you can do yoga in nature then it will be more effective. Many types of research show that yoga relieves stress.

We all face stress in our life but how we can manage or diminish the stress is matter the most. I hope that you will relieve your stress level by applying these steps in your life.
