33 Life-Changing Lessons to Learn from Joe Dispenza

1. You can change your brain just by thinking differently. ~ Joe Dispenza

We can mold and shape our brain by paying attention. If we can hold on to an idea, we begin to wire and shape our brain.” ~ Joe Dispenza

2. We think somewhere between 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts in one day.

“We think somewhere between 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts in one day,1 and 90 percent of those thoughts are exactly the same ones we had the day before.” ~ Joe Dispenza

3. Your thoughts are incredibly powerful. Choose yours wisely. ~ Joe Dispenza

“Conscious thoughts repeated often enough, become unconscious thinking.” ~ Joe Dispenza

4. The best way to predict your future is to create it.

“The best way to predict your future is to create it not from the known, but from the unknown. When you get uncomfortable in the place of the unknown – that’s where the magic happens.” ~ Joe Dispenza

5. To be empowered—to be free, to be unlimited, to be creative, to be genius, to be divine—that is who you are.

“…Once you feel this way, memorize this feeling; remember this feeling. This is who you really are….” ~ Joe Dispenza

6. What we’re conditioned to believe about ourselves affects our performance.

“What we’re conditioned to believe about ourselves, and what we’re programmed to think other people think about us, affects our performance, including how successful we are. It’s the same with placebos: What we’re conditioned to believe will happen when we take a pill, and what we think that everyone around us (including our doctors) expects will happen when we do, affects how our bodies respond to the pill.”

7. When you’re living in survival, you’re trying to control or force an outcome.

“…that’s what the ego does. When you’re living in the elevated emotion of creation, you feel so lifted that you would never try to analyze how or when a chosen destiny will arrive. You trust that it will happen because you have already experienced it in mind and body—in thought and feeling… You are in a state of gratitude because you feel like it’s already happened. You may not know all the specifics of your desired outcome—when it will take place, where, and under what circumstances—but you trust in a future that you can’t see or otherwise perceive with your senses.”

8. We cannot create a new future, by holding on to the emotions of the past.

“Same thoughts always lead to the same choices, same choices lead to the same behavior and the same behaviors lead to same experiences and the same experiences produce the same emotions and these emotions drive the very same thoughts.”

9. By itself, conscious positive thinking cannot overcome subconscious negative feelings. ~  Joe Dispenza

10. When you are observing the old self, you are no longer the program.

“… now you are the consciousness observing the program and that’s when you begin to objectify your subjective self.” ~ Joe Dispenza

11. The point is, true happiness has nothing to do with pleasure.

“…because the reliance on feeling good from such intensely stimulating things only moves us further from real joy.” ~ Joe Dispenza

12. Where you place your attention, is where you place your energy. ~ Joe Dispenza

13. To truly change is to think greater than your environment.

“To truly change is to think greater than your environment. To think greater than the circumstances in your life, to think greater than the conditions in the world… As long as you are thinking equal to your environment, you keep creating the same life… When one holds a dream independent of the environment, that’s greatness.” ~ Joe Dispenza

14. To change is to think greater than how we feel.

“Warning: when feelings become the means of thinking, or if we cannot think greater than how we feel, we can never change. To change is to think greater than how we feel. To change is to act greater than the familiar feelings of the memorized self.” ~ Joe Dispenza

15. The quantum field responds not to what we want; it responds to who we are being. ~ Joe Dispenza

“The quantum field doesn’t respond simply to our wishes—our emotional requests. It doesn’t just respond to our aims—our thoughts. It only responds when those two are aligned or coherent—that is, when they are broadcasting the same signal. When we combine an elevated emotion with an open heart and a conscious intention with clear thought, we signal the field to respond in amazing ways. The quantum field responds not to what we want; it responds to who we are being.” ― Joe Dispenza

16. Your personality creates your personal reality.

“Your personality creates your personal reality. Your personality is made up of how you act, how you think and how you feel.”

17. Spend time contemplating who you want to be.

“The mere process of contemplating who you want to be, begins to change your brain.”

18. The hormones of stress create disease.

“When we focus on thoughts about bitter past memories or imagined dreadful futures to the exclusion of everything else, we prevent the body from regaining homeostasis. In truth, we’re capable of turning on the stress response by thought alone. If we turn it on and then can’t turn it off, we’re surely headed for some type of illness or disease—be it a cold or cancer—as more and more genes get downregulated in a domino effect until we eventually arrive at our genetic destiny. ”

The hormones of stress, in the long term, push the genetic buttons that create disease. ~ Joe Dispenza

19. Genes don’t create disease. ~ Joe Dispenza

“Genes don’t create disease; instead, the environment signals the gene to create disease.” ~ Joe Dispenza

20. You don’t need the external world to provide you with a reason to feel joy.

“Can you accept the notion that once you change your internal state, you don’t need the external world to provide you with a reason to feel joy, gratitude, appreciation, or any other elevated emotion?” ~ Joe Dispenza

21. We should never wait for science to give us permission to do the uncommon.

“… if we do, then we are turning science into another religion.” ~ Joe Dispenza

22. The true purpose of meditation is to enter into the subconscious mind.

“You will learn that the true purpose of meditation is to get beyond the analytical mind and enter into the subconscious mind so you can make real and permanent changes. If you get up from meditation as the same person who sat down, nothing has happened to you on any level. When you meditate and connect to something greater, you can create and then memorize such coherence between your thoughts and feelings that nothing in your outer reality—no thing, no person, no condition at any place or time—could move you from that level of energy. Now you are mastering your environment, your body, and time.” Joe Dispenza

23. Your thoughts and feelings come from your past memories.

“If you think and feel a certain way, you begin to create an attitude. An attitude is a cycle of short-term thoughts and feelings experienced over and over again. Attitudes are shortened states of being. If you string a series of attitudes together, you create a belief. Beliefs are more elongated states of being and tend to become subconscious. When you add beliefs together, you create a perception. Your perceptions have everything to do with the choices you make, the behaviors you exhibit, the relationships you chose, and the realities you create.” ~ Joe Dispenza

24. Break the habit of being yourself and reinvent a new self. ~ Joe Dispenza

“So if we want to change some aspect of our reality, we have to think, feel, and act in new ways; we have to “be” different in terms of our responses to experiences. We have to “become” someone else. We have to create a new state of mind … we need to observe a new outcome with that new mind.” ~ Joe Dispenza

25. To be happy with yourself in the present moment while maintaining a dream of your future is a grand recipe for manifestation.

“… When you feel so whole that you no longer care whether “it” will happen, that’s when amazing things materialize before your eyes. I’ve learned that being whole is the perfect state of creation. I’ve seen this time and time again in witnessing true healings in people all over the world. They feel so complete that they no longer want, no longer feel lack, and no longer try to do it themselves. They let go, and to their amazement, something greater than they are responds—and they laugh at the simplicity of the process.” ~ Joe Dispenza

26. You can change who you are from brain cell to gene, given the right understanding.

“The latest research supports the notion that we have a natural ability to change the brain and body by thought alone, so that it looks biologically like some future event has already happened. Because you can make thought more real than anything else, you can change who you are from brain cell to gene, given the right understanding.” ~ Joe Dispenza

27. The hardest part about change is not making the same choices you made the day before. ~ Joe Dispenza

28. We see our beliefs as truths, not ideas that we can change.

“… we’re addicted to our beliefs; we’re addicted to the emotions of our past. We see our beliefs as truths, not ideas that we can change. If we have very strong beliefs about something, evidence to the contrary could be sitting right in front of us, but we may not see it because what we perceive is entirely different. We’ve in fact conditioned ourselves to believe all sorts of things that aren’t necessarily true—and many of these things are having a negative impact on our health and happiness.” ~ Joe Dispenza

29. Change is a choice, instead of a reaction. ~ Joe Dispenza

30. The frontal lobe is the CEO of the brain. The rest of the brain is just past programming.

“The size of the frontal lobe in reference to the other parts of the brain is what separates us from other animals. For human beings, the frontal lobe is almost 40% of the entire brain. For apes and chimpanzees, it is about 15% to 17%. For dogs, it’s 7% and cats 3.5%.”

“When we put all our attention on an idea or concept, there is a physical change that happens in the brain. The brain takes the holographic image that we are holding in our frontal lobe and creates a pattern of connections that associate with that concept/idea.” Joe Dispenza

31. When you marry a clear intention with an elevated emotion, you move into a new state of being. ~ Joe Dispenza

“When you marry a clear intention (intention being a thoughtful process), with an elevated emotion (which is a heartfelt process), you move into a new state of being.” ~ Joe Dispenza

32. Where we put our awareness, and for how long, maps our destiny. ~ Joe Dispenza

33. A memory without the emotional charge is called wisdom. ~ Joe Dispenza

BONUS: Joe Dispenza Quotes

“Now if we think about it, there is some intelligence that is giving us life that is keeping our heart beating. It’s the same intelligence that is digesting our food, breaking down food into nutrients and taking that food and organizing it to repair the body. All of that is taking place without us being conscious of it.” Joe Dispenza

“The more we think the same thoughts, which then produce the same chemicals, which cause the body to have the same feelings, the more we physically become modified by our thoughts. In this way, depending on what we are thinking and feeling, we create our state of being. What we think about and the energy or intensity of these thoughts directly influences our health, the choices we make, and, ultimately, our quality of life. Applying”~ Joe Dispenza

“To begin changing their attitudes, these individuals began to pay constant attention to their thoughts. In particular, they made a conscious effort to observe their automatic thought processes, especially the harmful ones. To their surprise, they found that most of their persistent, negative inner statements were not true. In other words, just because we have a thought does not necessarily mean that we have to believe it is true.”

“It takes awareness and effort to break the cycle of a thinking process that has become unconscious. First, we need to step out of our routines so we can look at our lives. Through contemplation and self-reflection, we can become aware of our unconscious scripts. Then, we must observe these thoughts without responding to them, so that they no longer initiate the automatic chemical responses that produce habitual behavior. Within all of us, we possess a level of self-awareness that can observe our thinking. We must learn how to be separate from these programs and when we do, we can willfully have dominion over them. Ultimately, we can exercise control over our thoughts. In doing so, we are neurologically breaking apart thoughts that have become hardwired in our brain.”
