How to Feel Less Lonely in the World: 8 Steps to Reconnect with Your Heart

Isn’t it interesting how, in a sea full of souls, more and more people feel alone, isolated, disconnected from one another and disconnected from the whole world?

With all the social media platforms, the many apps we have and all the technology that’s available to us, we should all feel much more connected to one another, right?

But we don’t! We really, really, don’t.

Feeling Less Lonely in This World

Instead, we have more and more moments when we feel empty and all alone. Moments when, even though we are surrounded by a multitude of people, for a reason unknown to us, we can’t feel any connection to those around us, nor can we feel the love our close friends, and family insist they have for us.

So why is it that?

We Have Been Facing the Wrong Way

The world we live in teaches us to look for love, connection, and affection outside ourselves. It tells us that it’s other people’s job to love us, to See us, and to make us feel worthy, valued, and enough. And in our innocence, we believe this to be true.

We believe it’s other people’s job to save us from our loneliness and make us feel happy, loved, whole and complete.

But it’s not our fault.

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. ~ Carl Jung

No matter how lost, disconnected and alone we might feel, and no matter how unworthy of love and affection we might think we are, we can always go back to that safe place within ourselves where Love is always present, and where Peace governs all that we do.

We can learn to look in the eyes of one another and See the Love and Truth of who they are, and we can look deep into our own hearts and find the Love we thought was lost and feel less lonely in this world. Here’s HOW:

8 Ways to Feel Less Lonely in the World

1. Ask Questions

If you want to feel less lonely and recconect with your Truth, you need to ask yourself simple questions that will bring forth powerful answers. Here are a few examples:

How much Love do I have for My Own Self?

How much Respect do I have for my Own Person?

How do I make My Self feel?

How connected do I truly feel to my own Self?

2. Be Honest with Yourself

Don’t try to hide the Truth from yourself. Be honest with yourself and see where you are pretending to have amnesia and why? What fears are holding you back, and what can you do to let go?

3. Ask more of yourself than you ask from others

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” ~ Buddha

I know you think others are meant to love and take good care of you, but for a little while, see if you can ask more of yourself than you do from others. See if you can offer yourself the love, help, connection, and support you think others should offer you.

4. Look into your own eyes

Your eyes are the window to your own Soul. They truly are. And to feel less lonely, you need to make sure you spend at least one minute each day to look deep into your own eyes and connect with that beautiful heart and Soul of yourself, for that is where all your treasure will be found.

5. Look deep into the eyes of others

Look deep into the eyes of those around you and See them for who they truly are. See them in all their glory, their beauty, their power, and their radiance.

6. Honor Yourself

Make a commitment to yourself to honor the Truth of you and live each day in Truth, Love, and Integrity. Honor yourself and all that Life created you to be.

7. Honor the World Around You.

Honor the ground you walk on, the people you come in contact with, the work you do, the food you eat, the bed you sleep in, and the whole world.

8. Look for Sacredness in All Things

When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself. ~ Tecumseh

Look for the sacredness in the things you do, the people you come in contact with. And look for the sacredness in your own Self, and your own Being.

Seek to recognize the Beauty and Perfection of who you are, and know that by doing so, you will be able to recognize the Beauty and Perfection in all things and in all people.

And these are the 8 steps you can take to access the love that’s already present in your heart and feel less lonely in the world.
