“Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself – no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are – completely; the good and the bad – and make changes as YOU see fit – not because you think someone else wants you to be different.” ~ Stacey Charter
The Biggest Obstacle to Feeling Worthy and Enough
Isn’t it incredible how much time we spend chasing fulfillment outside ourselves? And how much energy we invest in trying to make the world love, and approve of us? ( Facebook and Instagram are just an example of that.)
It feels as though, because of the many years of brainwashing and unhealthy programming, we fell into a state of deep sleep that made it hard for us to remember who we truly are underneath it all. As a result, we started looking outside of ourselves for all the things we mistakenly assumed that were missing from our lives. And feeling worthy and enough became a luxury.
This isn’t just the story of a few people.
This is the story of humanity.
Humanity as a whole has been wandering from place to place in search of the many treasures that have been placed within ourselves for a long time,
“Hunting for the diamond necklace That is already around our neck!” ~ Rumi
“In the movie The Shift, Wayne Dyer talks about how for the first nine months of our existence, everything we needed for our growth and development was provided to us, naturally and effortlessly. While we were in our mother’s womb, we didn’t have to fear, control, stress over and worry about what color our eyes were going to be or how our organs were going to develop. We simply surrendered and trusted that everything was being taken cared for us. We trusted the wisdom of life and we trusted ourselves. But as we grew older, constantly hearing that the world around us was a fearful and hostile place, and being exposed to painful and unhappy experiences and circumstances, we slowly but surely began to drift away from that trust. We forgot about our true nature and we began to think that we were all alone and helpless.” ~ 15 Things You Should Give Up to Be Happy: An Inspiring Guide to Discovering Effortless Joy
But we are far from being helpless.
Your vision will become clear only when you look within
We came into this world as a pure, sacred, perfect, and loving being – we needed nothing to feel happy, whole and fulfilled. But as time went by, and as we started to buy into all the unhealthy stories that we’ve heard from those around and as we began to cling onto fear more and more, we forgot that there is nothing outside of us that can bring us long lasting joy and fulfillment; nothing outside of us that can make us feel the love, safety, and fulfillment we so desperately seek for.
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” ~ Carl Jung
We all want to be Seen. We all want to be loved, and we all want to be noticed. But because of our fixation with this idea that somebody or something out there is meant to fulfill us, we forgot to look at ourselves in the mirror, and recognize that the only person who can make us feel truly fulfilled, loved, happy, and alive, is our own Self.
You are that which you seek for
You are the Love you long for.
You are the Wealth you dream of.
You are the Beauty you think is missing from your life.
You are the Purpose and you are the Fulfillment.
You are the Power, Strength, Wisdom, and Confidence you think money, and fame will buy you.
You are the Safety and Security you desperately seek for.
It’s all in you!
You are that which you seek for.
“If you look to others for fulfillment, you will never truly be fulfilled. If your happiness depends on money, you will never be happy with yourself. Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” ~ Lao Tzu
Feeling Worthy and Enough
You are not small.
You are not insignificant.
And you surely aren’t unworthy.
You are worthy and deserving of all the good this life has to offer.
You are a manifestation of Divinity.
Divinity became You so that you can experience Divinity – that’s how precious you are.
So learn to treasure you Divinity.
Don’t deny yourself the right to be all that Life created you to be.
Embrace yourself and know that:
“Everything in the universe is within you. Ask all from yourself.” ~ Rumi
