“Once someone else has done your makeup and someone else has done your hair and someone has directed the way your body looks and then taking away your imperfections, then there’s not really much left of who you really are… You look at these ads and magazines and you see these women who look absolutely flawless and you say: Ah, I wish I could look like that, but who really looks like this… Instead of looking at other things and trying to aspire to be something else, we should just be comfortable with who we are and just try to be our best selves.”
Over the years I have learned that true beauty is the beauty from within. True beauty can be fully seen only when you are content with who you really are, inside and outside. When you accept your qualities, imperfections and all, and when you are able to wake up in the morning and say to yourself:”
I feel perfect today!” Because when you feel perfect, when you are happy on the inside, you see yourself the same way on the outside. You are more serene, you smile more, you are simply radiating and at the end of the day, this is what matters the most for you to feel happy and truly beautiful.
The BuzzFeed crew has made an interesting experiment. They invited four women to participate in a professional photoshoot, complete with makeup, styling, and “angle this way” instructions and photoshopped them afterward into cover models.
Even though many women dream of looking flawless like the many models they see in ads and magazines, the reactions they had were very surprising and I loved every single word they had to say about the entire experience.
