6 Things to Know about True Love

“True love is nothing but an expression of who you truly are. Love is present at the core of your Being. You were created out of Love, with Love, and to be Loved…” ~ Luminița D. Saviuc

True Love

We go around looking for true love, hoping and wishing to find that ONE person who will make our imperfect life, perfect. We fool ourselves into thinking that true love can only come from outside ourselves, but rarely from within ourselves.

But true love can only be found by love. It goes where love is. And the more you hold the vibration of love within your heart, by loving yourself and your life, the more love you will be able to attract upon yourself.

Seek not outside yourself, for all your pain comes simply from a futile search for what you want, insisting where it must be found. ~ A Course in Miracles

Love cannot, and will not go to those who have an empty heart. True love comes from within. It starts with you! It comes to you abundantly when there is an abundance of love within your heart. It flows through you and it ends with you…

6 Things to Know about True Love

1. Self-love is the best way to attract true love.

If you don’t have love for yourself, you can’t expect to get love from someone else. And even if you get it, it will only be for a little while.

It won’t last too long.

6 Things to Know about True Love

Love comes in abundance to those who have an abundance of love within their hearts. And that is why it is so important to learn to love yourself with all your heart, for who you are and for who you are not; to be good to yourself and to trust that in doing so, the whole world will be good to you as well.

2. True love is not about finding your completeness in another person.

Believe it or not, you are already whole and complete. That’s how you were created by the Source of it all. And contrary to what you were led to believe, you aren’t meant to find someone who will make you feel whole and complete. You are only meant to embrace your wholeness. And from that sacred space, to share your completeness with the one you love.

3. The love of your life is YOU.

Why look outside yourself for something that is already present within you? Why go out there begging for love when there’s an infinite reservoir of love within yourself?

Learn to open your heart to the love that is already within you. Let that love reveal to you the truth: that you are the love of your life. And that your wonderful, luminous, and divine Self holds the answer to all your life’s questions.

Look within your heart.

Within yourself, you will find all the love you need and desire. And know that the love that seems to come from outside of you, is nothing but a projection of the love that is already present within you.

4. True love doesn’t need to be fought over.

You often hear people say, that if you really love somebody, you have to fight for that person. But I really don’t think that’s true love.

6 Things to Know about True Love

If you need to ‘fight’ for someone’s ‘love’, that is a clear sign that their ‘love’ is not worth having.

Why?

Because it ain’t the real thing. It ain’t love. To ‘fight’ and ‘to love’ are two completely different things. And you can only have one without the other. You can’t have both. As St. Paul the Apostle said it so beautifully,

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

5. True love is effortless.

True love feels easy. It flows and everything comes naturally. Where there is love, there is no need for control, no need for fixing the other person, no need for criticism, judgment, jealousy, blame, or any other toxic behavior. Love is love and that’s all there is to it…

6. True love is free from bondage.

Love needs to do what love knows best: to love and be loved. Love has no interest in holding on to something or someone. Love imposes no demands.

Where there is love there is no clinging, no bondages, and no attachments. Only love and the freedom that comes from loving, allowing your beloved to be all that Life created them to be…
