The World Waits For You

It’s so easy to give up on our dreams; it’s so easy to do what everybody expects us to be doing; it’s so easy to blend in, to be like everybody else, just another person in the crowd, having nothing interested to say, nothing interesting to show, nothing interesting  to share with the world. It’s so easy to stay in our comfort zone, away from our doubts, fears, and worries; away from change and all that is unfamiliar; away from growth and evolution; away from all the opportunities life has to offer us; away from all that is beautiful, empowering and great… away from life.

We say we want to accomplish great things; we say we want our work to be remembered; we say we want to make the world a better place, while at the same time, we doubt we are capable of such a thing, we doubt that we have what it takes to accomplish anything worth remembering.

We have all kind of conflicting thoughts, ideas, and beliefs, and because most people have no clue who they are, and what they are really capable of doing, they give up on their dreams at the first sign of failure, they give up because they believe when other people tell them that they are crazy and that they should stop dreaming and start being more realistic, or what’s worse, they give up at the first negative and defeating thought they have.

If they hear a voice in their head telling them:

Who do you think you are to have these big dreams?

You are a nobody, and you will always remain a nobody.

You can’t even get from point A to point B and you say want to do this or that?

Have you lost your mind?

Go get a real job, do what everybody else is already doing, and stop with this nonsense.

The world is a dangerous place.

Stay in your comfort zone where is safe, and you will never get hurt.

You can’t accomplish great things, you never had and you never will, and you must accept this!

Stop making a fool out of yourself!

they give up, they stop going after whatever it is that they were after. They stop trying, they stop dreaming because they now know that their dreams are impossible. They believe that’s the truth because you see, the voice inside their head told them so, their friends and family told them so… in fact, the whole world told them so. The whole world knows that they are incapable of achieving great things, and it’s not like they are going to go against the whole world, right? The world knows better.

And this is how they go back to being realistic, and living a life that has no real value, not for them and not for anybody around them. They go back to “the real world”, they go back to living what Henry David Thoreau called:

“A life of quiet desperation, going to the grave with the song still in them.

I personally got to a point where I no longer care about what other people think of me, my abilities, whether they think I can do this or that or not, whether they think I am being realistic, crazy, insane, you name it, and I can ignore their “good intentions.” You have to know yourself, and you have to listen to your heart and intuition. I can tell you from my own experience that if you work with them, you will get far, but if you chose to ignore them, if you chose to ignore your heart and intuition, and if you would prefer to listen to what others think is best for you, and act upon that, or if you chose to listen to that crazy voice inside your head who is always telling you how you can’t do this or that, you will get in big trouble.

Why would you choose to listen to somebody who doesn’t have your best interest at heart; why would you choose to listen to somebody who tells you that you can’t do this or that, projecting their own limitations on your person? Why would you choose to listen to somebody who won’t allow you to grow and develop into a beautiful and inspiring person?

Ignore those people who tell you that you can’t accomplish great things, ignore that crazy voice inside your head, ignore those negative thoughts and ideas that are holding you back, ignore those limiting beliefs that were handed down to you by your parents, your friends, your teachers, etc., and choose to focus on the incredible things you want to accomplish. Start from the end, and always look at the person you want to become, at the things you want to achieve, and in time you will see how, by doing this, by focusing your energy and attention on what you want, rather than on what you don’t want, on who you want to become rather than on who you once were, wonderful things will start happening to you, with you and because of you.

Promise yourself to be true to yourself, to make all your dreams come true; promise yourself to always use your unique gifts and talents; promise yourself to be an inspiration for other people.  Make them see that if you really believe in something with all your heart, and if you have the courage to face all your doubts and fears, nothing will ever be impossible because you see, the word itself says, I’M POSSIBLE!
