4 Powerful Ways to Get Back Up After You Have Fallen Hard

No matter how hard you fall in life, you can always get back up. There’s no need to remain at the bottom of the pit. That’s not where you belong… ~ Luminita D. Saviuc

With everything happening in the world at the moment, so many people have already fallen into the trap of feeling like helpless victims.

We are only humans. It happens.

But just because we have a tendency to fall when things get painful and intense, it doesn’t mean we should remain there…

How to Get Back Up After You Have Fallen Hard

1. Get back up by embracing your humanity.

I used to be so hard on myself in the past. Thinking that I was supposed to be ‘perfect’ and that I was expected to do everything ‘perfectly’, I gave myself such a hard time whenever I fell down.

It was an old program. A sort of mind virus from the past that continued to hurt and harm me, a lot of times without me even knowing it.

So I had to find my way around it. I had to release this toxic need to punish myself for my imperfections in the same way my father used to do it when I was a little child. And I had to learn to embrace my humanity.

Was that an easy thing to do?

Of course not. I still have moments when I fall into this old trap. But in my many falls and stumblings, I have learned that to be human is to fall down, to feel pain, get hurt, and make mistakes…

It’s all part of our humanity. And as learn to make peace with your own humanity, it somehow becomes easier and easier to get back up from every fall…

2. Get back up by shaming Yourself no more.

Whenever I get into a dark and weird space where I can’t see things clearly no more, I ask myself:

Would I still feel as guilty and ashamed as I do if I were all alone in this world?

If there were no person, place, and experience to compare myself with, would I still feel as bad as I do?

And the answer is always the same: NO!

You see, a lot of times we guilt and shame ourselves because of this unhealthy belief that we have fallen behind the rest of the world.

Since life has become a lot like a race to most of us, by being so harsh and critical with ourselves, we add unnecessary pain on top of the pain we are already feeling.

Instead of being the ones who will heal the parts of ourselves who feel wounded, hurt, and alone, by practicing self- love and compassion, we are hurting ourselves even more by guilting and shaming ourselves ‘for not being ahead of everyone else.’

It’s a toxic way of being that seems to be present everywhere…

With all that being said, if you truly want to get back up after you have fallen hard, it’s imperative that you release this horrifying need to guilt and shame yourself for being human And you need to do so in a way that is kind, loving, and self-empowering

No more guilting, shaming, and abusing yourself!

3. Get back up by releasing the toxicity.

Whenever you fall down or make a mistake, chances are that a cascade of toxic and unhealthy thoughts will rush in to remind you of your failures and many mistakes. To remind you that you’re no good and that your life is now over.

Even though all these thoughts may feel like truth, they aren’t!

They are nothing but lies that are only meant to keep stuck and feeling more and more alone, afraid, guilty, and ashamed.

Pay no attention to them!

As a wise person once said to me: Truth is Light and lies are heavy. And I guess that says it all!

If you truly want to get back up after you have fallen hard, it’s important to clear all these dark and toxic thoughts. And allow yourself to recognize that you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty and ashamed about.

You are innocent!

And if at one point in your life you have done things that you are not proud of, that’s only because you didn’t know any better…

Now that you know better, you can do better.

4. Get back up by embracing your Innocence.

The sad thing about the world we are living in is that we have forgotten that we are not our dark thoughts and heavy feelings. But rather the innocent awareness that lies still and at peace beyond all this noise and chaos.

We are the embodiment of Innocence.

This is the Truth of who we are. It is the essence of our Being. And even though at times we might act in ways that are cruel, unkind, and toxic, that doesn’t mean that that’s the Truth of who we are.

That’s just how we behave when we act against our Nature…

The truth of the matter is that we are innocent, resilient, and loving beings who can get back up from every fall. And as we learn to recognize and embrace this Truth, we will eventually learn to be as kind, gentle, loving, and compassionate with ourselves, as we would be with a little child. And from that genuine and loving space, we will no longer feel the need to hurt, punish, and abuse ourselves for our shortcomings. Nor will you allow anyone else to do so…

Because we will now know that we are innocent. And that we have absolutely nothing to feel guilty and ashamed about…
